October 19, 2011

Hello Beautiful friends and neighbors! I know that it has been a while since I have written so I wanted to take a moment and tell you what I have been up to. This summer I have been working in the studio with my youngest daughter, Hailey producing her new music that is just now becoming available for folks to give a listen to. Her first release is an old Beatles tune, "I Will" and it turned out wonderfully. Click on the above link, which is the song title to listen. I want to thank Mr. Jeff Cox on upright bass, Brian Fullen on percussion, Pat Stockdale on guitar and mandolin, and Hoot Hester on fiddle and mandolin for lending their awesome talent to Hailey's new music. We are hoping to bring back Live @ Angie's Place on December 3, 2011 when we play a live concert at "The Coupe" a totally great venue that I am looking forward to performing in. We will be filming a video on this night of great music and hope that you can come and be with us, or watch it live on the internet. Click on the venue name for a link to their website. So there you have it...we are getting in gear for the holidays and I can't wait to see you all along the way. Please visit me on facebook cause I want to talk to each and everyone of you. Oh yeah, one more thing, a while back I told you about a song written about my grandmother by my guitarist, "Pat Stockdale" it is called the "Mammaw Song" and if you click on the name of the tune you can listen. I hope you like it! That's it for now, we'll talk soon!

Wow what a great year  we have had in 2010 but alas it is time to say goodbye and open our minds and hearts to the opportunities that a new year will bring. I am looking forward to what 2011 has in store and I am already making plans for the road ahead. Our first TV show of the year for Live @ Angie's Place will be January 23, 2011 at 5:00 CST and for the first time if the good lord is willing we will be broadcasting in HD.  The show is ever evolving and we are learning the do's and don'ts of producing a TV show. This will be our third show and we have made many upgrades so that the audience will hopefully enjoy better quality programming. I will be producing a new EP for my daughter Hailey this year so stay tuned for more news about that. I am excited and so proud of her and know that you all will love this talented up and coming star as well. I am hoping to do some writing this year and at some point will probably begin work on a new record myself. I want you all to know that I thank God for your support of my music and It is my hope that you will all have a very very blessed year. Talk to you soon.
All of my love

Hickman County Times Article

Red Cross will benefit

Laster's music to provide aid

May's disastrous flooding left an impression on singer/songwriter Angie Laster, who grew up in Pleasantville. " I couldn't get in touch with my family--- it was terrible", she said. That challenge has been overcome, but Laster lives in Lyles so she's aware that the recovery process is going to take awhile throughout Hickman County. That's led her to put her music where her heart is: Proceeds from the sale of her new CD, "Way Too Much To Think", will be donated to the Hickman County Service Center of the American Red Cross. Laster said the five-song collection of her newest work should be out this week. It will be on sale at the Hickman County Chamber of Commerce, on the Centerville Square, where she will perform on Saturday, June 26 on the Grinders Switch Radio Hour. The CD produced through Terrell Branch Music Group which she manages along with Pat Stockdale, will be available for sale there. "It was really fun", says the mother of two and grandmother of one. "It took a long time, family and things. It's hard to focus on just one thing. "It's a good combination to me. I wouldn't have it any other way". Music has, however, been a priority for her since she was able to climb upon the piano stool at Pleasantville Pentecostal Church, where her dad was the minister. That church was among the places impacted by flooding on May 1-2. " I believe in paying forward," she said last week. "It's only right to help others with it." She began songwriting at age 12, then recorded Angie Laster Gospel-- a collection that included one of her own songs. Her style has turned to country since then, though there's some rhythm and blues, too. "My backbone is Christian," she says of her style. "I have such a wide variety." Her newest CD is her third, and you can hear her cuts at her website, http://angielaster.com

I am so excited to tell you that my new album "Way Too Much To Think" is finally finished! I have been working on this project for quite a while now and hope that you will like it! Because of the recent flooding in Tennessee, and my home town of Pleasantville, I have decided to donate all of the proceeds from the sale of the new physical cd to the Hickman County, Tn chapter of the Red Cross to help out the families affected by this terrible tragedy. If you want an actual copy of the cd send me an email and I will let you know where to send a donation of whatever you feel like giving to the Red Cross so you can receive your copy. Digital Downloads of the new album are available in the store section of this site for free!!! as a way to show my appreciation to the folks who have continued to support my music, just click on my picture and then click on free MP3 highlighted in blue. I will also have some copies available at the Chamber of Commerce in Centerville,Tn. Visit my site and I will keep you informed as to new developments in where you can obtain the record, and about some live performances that I have coming up. Thank You all so much for caring, and being interested in my music. I sure love bringing it to you!

Many of you are aware that my hometown of Pleasantville,Tn as well as Hickman County suffered much devastation in the recent flood that we experienced here in Tennessee. Sadly there was also loss of life from families that I knew and loved! I want to thank everyone who has helped me stay in touch with my Mammaw when the phone lines were knocked out! Tennessee is a wonderful place to live and it is amazing to see how people have come together in this time of crisis. We will recover and replace our material things, we will be there to comfort the families that have lost so much, and we will keep praying and lending a hand to those in need. On a happier note I am so excited to tell you that my new album is very close to completion and is in the mixing stages as I write this. I hope that the new material will be to your liking and can't wait to make it available to you! thank you for you thoughts, prayers, and support I hope to talk to all of you very soon!

All My Love
